For the past five years, we've been quietly building The Wax Leaf from our home into something we genuinely didn't expect, a brand that people actually love, trust, and come back to again and again.

But we've always known there was a next chapter waiting. One built not just on beautiful products, but on doing things the right way for the planet.

So on 31st March, we're launching a Kickstarter. And we'd love for you to be part of it.

Why now? Because sustainability has to mean something.

Here's the thing. We could make candles in plain glass jars like everyone else. Cheaper, faster, easier. But that's not why we started this.

We started because we believe that a beautiful candle in a beautiful vessel shouldn't end up in landfill the moment the wax runs out.

Over the past five years, we've learned that our customers feel the same way. Our wildflower seeded dust covers, included with every single candle, have become one of our most loved features. People plant them. Watch them grow. Turn something they loved into something that blooms. Garden centres stock us specifically because of this. Because it matters.

But we knew we could do better.

This Kickstarter is us going all in on sustainability.

We're creating completely bespoke candle jars — larger, more substantial vessels made from premium Jesmonite. The bigger the jar, the longer it burns. The longer it burns, the less likely someone throws it away after one use. These aren't disposable. They're keepers. Designed to be refilled, repurposed, loved for years.

We're launching a Jesmonite home décor range, every piece handcrafted, every piece built to last, every piece debossed with our branding so it becomes part of your home, not something you discard.

And we're completely redesigning our wax melt packaging. Our old glassine pouches were as eco-friendly as we could make them. But our new cube wax melt collection comes in 100% recycled cardboard packaging. No plastic. No compromise on the planet.

This is what backing us means. You're not just buying a product. You're voting for a brand that actually means what it says about sustainability.

Our Jesmonite Home Décor Collection

Jesmonite is at the heart of everything we do. It's the material that transformed our business and now we're taking it further than ever before.

Alongside our new candle range, this campaign funds a brand new collection of Jesmonite home décor pieces. Minimal, considered, and designed to live beautifully in your home for years to come.

What makes this collection special is that every piece shares the same signature ribbed texture as our iconic candles — creating a cohesive, unified aesthetic across your entire home. Whether you're displaying them together or scattered throughout your space, they instantly feel like they belong to the same world.

The collection includes:

Tissue boxes — a functional everyday item reimagined in Jesmonite with our signature ribbed finish, debossed with The Wax Leaf branding

Egg holders — a minimal, sculptural piece with matching ribbed detail that brings artisan craft to your kitchen or dining table

The Wax Melt Storage Box — our most exciting new product. A 20cm x 12.5cm x 5cm Jesmonite storage box with the same ribbed texture, debossed with our logo, designed to hold all 10 of your wax melt sets in a row. Functional, beautiful, and designed to live on display.

Our New Wax Melt Collection & Refill System

You may already know our wax melts, our signature snapbars in glassine pouches have been a staple. But we're evolving.

This campaign marks the beginning of a transition to our new cube wax melt collection, a completely reimagined format designed specifically to work alongside our new Jesmonite Wax Melt Storage Box.

Each set contains six individually crafted wax melt cubes, housed in 100% recycled cardboard packaging. Designed to slot perfectly into your storage box in a row, keeping your favourite scents organised, accessible and beautifully displayed.

Same exceptional quality. Completely new experience. Zero plastic.

The snapbar format will be gradually phased out as we transition to this new range — because we're committed to reducing packaging waste at every step.

And then there's the Founding Edition.

We're creating one exclusive candle, a completely bespoke jar in deep forest green, with a smooth central band debossed with "The Wax Leaf — Founding Edition 2026." We're making exactly 25 of them and no more (exclusivly for our kickstarter). Each one comes with seeded dust cover, so you can plant wildflowers and grow something from something you love and a hand-signed certificate from both of us, making each piece feel special and collectible.

Poured in an exclusive scent created solely for this campaign a scent that will also never be made again (this will be revealed further into our campaign).

This is the collector's piece. The one people will hold onto. Forever.

Why we're doing this

We've spent five years learning that people don't just buy candles from us — they buy into a story. A belief that handmade matters. That sustainability isn't performative. That beautiful things shouldn't be disposable.

This Kickstarter is us doubling down on that belief. We're not asking for money for something that already exists. We're asking for support to create something entirely new, to invest in bespoke moulds, to fund production, to bring these products to life in the way we've always imagined them.

Products that last longer. Products made from better materials. Products with packaging that doesn't harm the planet. Products that people actually want to keep.

And honestly? We couldn't do it without you.

The rewards

There are eight tiers to choose from, ranging from £5 all the way to £300. Whether you want to own one of the limited edition 25 Founding Edition candles, or get your hands on our new collection before anyone else, or simply help a little candle brand take their biggest step yet towards real sustainability, there's something for you.

What happens next

Our Kickstarter is now live (Tuesday 31st March) and runs for 28 days until 28th April. We're aiming to raise £12,000 to fund the custom moulds, initial production, and everything needed to bring these products to life.
